Common issues with VPN tunnels and remote access — and how to fix them.
Connection stays at "connecting" or "dialing"
- Check that the server address is correct (copy it from your dashboard).
- Verify your ISP is not blocking the VPN protocol or port.
- Try a different protocol (e.g. SSTP if L2TP is blocked).
- Make sure your subscription is active and not expired.
Authentication failed
- Double-check your PPP username and password from the dashboard.
- Make sure you are using the correct authentication methods (mschap2, mschap1, chap).
- If your account was recently renewed after expiration, wait a minute for the server to sync.
Connected but cannot access router remotely
- Check that the VPN interface has received an IP address under IP›Addresses.
- Verify the remote port assigned to your account (shown in the dashboard).
- Make sure the firewall is not blocking the tunnel traffic.
